Committed to breeding hardy, healthy versatile Fell ponies of the traditional Northern English type
The Fell pony originated in the North of England on the western side of the Pennine hills - an area that now includes Cumbria, parts of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. The harsh climate and the rough terrain of the northern fells (hills) have selected for a sturdy and thrifty pony.

Fell ponies mature slowly and many do not reach their full potential until they are 7 years old. They are long lived and have few health problems. Many continue to work well into their twenties. Generations of local breeders in the UK have continued to select ponies of moderate size, great strength and stamina and exceedingly good temperament.
Fell ponies are renowned for their versatility. They are strong enough to carry most adults and excel as family riding and driving ponies. Many are excellent jumpers. They can be used for light farm work. They are sure footed and intelligent - characteristics that make them particularly valued in the UK for endurance riding and riding for the disabled.

Fell ponies are shown in Breed and Mountain and Moorland (British
native pony) classes clean and well groomed but completely untrimmed. Most
modern Fell ponies are black but brown, bay and grey are equally acceptable
colours. Many Fell ponies have no white marking but a small white star and white
below the rear fetlocks are not penalized. With advancing age, grey Fell ponies
turn almost completely white.
Fells are truly a pony for every task!
