Drybarrows Linda |
We started to breed and understand Fell ponies in 2001. We regret that we didn’t discover Fell ponies 10 years ago as they are very beautiful, friendly, versatile and reliable in the hands of the right people.
We’ve visited with and spoken to many people on our "Fell pony hunt". We have also read as much as we could find about the breed and went to Cumbria to see where Fell ponies come from. In 2001 we finally succeeded in buying 4 really beautiful Fell ponies as a start of our herd for our Stud - 1 licensed stallion and 3 mares.

Linda is the one who led us to fall in love with Fell
ponies. She came as a 1½ year old. Her breeder is Mr. C. Thompson of
Drybarrows, one of the few remaining hillbreeders.
The most remarkable thing about her is that she gave us all her trust and love so soon after her arrival.
Her Sire is Drybarrow’s Handy Lad who lives in France now. Her half-sister was the 1999 champion and the 2000 reserve champion in Holland.
She came to Holland together with her dam Drybarrows Clare who received a 2nd premium at the Dutch Breed Show in 2000, brought several beautiful foals and was exported to Switzerland at the end of 2001.

Heltondale Bobby already proven himself many times in England. in a very short time he won 2 championships with five 1sts. His offspring, which are numerous (43) have also done very well, with four licensed stallions: Murthwaite Look at Me, Champion of the Stallion and Colt Show in 2002, bred by and still belonging to Mr. T.B. Capstick of Murthwaite out of the successful mare Greenholme Jess (who are both to viewable in the Photo Gallery section), Severnvale Hector (2nd of his class 2002 O. Mrs. D.J.. Chadwick), Murthwaite Black Bobby (O. Mr. B. Potter - Greenholme) and Severnvale Grey Bobby (2nd of his class in 1999, O. Mr. G. Guy - Severnvale). Severnvale Molly, a daughter of Bobby who was placed several times was exported to the USA in October 2001.
His Sire is the famous Tebay Campbell Ton Victor* and his breeder was the well known late Mr. William Sargent Noble.

This lovely lady arrived on the 24th of June. It looked as she had always been here. She immediately told the other ponies that she's the most important pony of the stud.
